How to Pack in Under 20 Hours

Packing properly for a move is important to ensure your belongings stay safe during transport to your new home. Did you procrastinate on packing for your upcoming move? Never fear, All My Sons Moving & Storage Austin is here to help! Here are some tips to pack quickly and make sure your belongings are ready for your fast approaching moving day.
First, get rid of some of your stuff. Save time when you pack by getting rid of some of your stuff. Take a couple hours to go through each room in your house and declutter. Donate these items to organizations like Goodwill or the Salvation Army and then you don’t have to worry about packing them.

Take advantage of the items you have in your home that can be used as packing supplies. Instead of spending time in a store searching for packing supplies, be creative with what you have in your home. Garbage bags make perfect wardrobe boxes for your hanging clothes in the closet. Don’t waste time taking your clothes off the hanger, simply pull a garbage bag over about 6 or 7 hangers of clothes and tie them at the top. Voila- you have an easy to move wardrobe box and your closet is packing mere minutes.

Don’t bother packing your sweatshirts and blankets in their own box- instead use them as protective filling for your fragile items. Tape your dresser drawers shut to avoid wasting time emptying and packing your clothes. Take advantage of storage spaces, baskets and organizational items in your home to store smaller items.

Packing is an important and often dreaded part of the moving process, but by being creative and taking a couple of hours to declutter, you can get it done in no time.
