New Year’s Eve Traditions in Austin

Now that you are more settled into your new home in Austin and Christmas has come and gone, thinking about New Year’s Eve plans can bring the stress back. You may not have had the time yet to explore what there is to do in Austin, let alone what there is to do in Austin for New Year’s. Not to worry, All My Sons Moving & Storage of Austin has your guide to all the best New Year traditions the city has to offer.

  1. Dine out in downtown’s finest restaurants. Get together with your loved ones and put on your most fabulous dress or bowtie. Head over to downtown’s most prestigious restaurants. Austin movers suggest Swifts Attic, Uchiko, and Barley Swine. We advise to make sure you check if the restaurant has a set menu before making reservations, so there are no surprises.
  2. What better way to spend New Year’s Eve than with a few super talented aerialists flying thru the air? Book your tickets for the New Year’s Eve at The Marchesa: An Aerial Spectacular where you’ll feast your eyes on 18 of the very best acts in town; performing trapeze, Lyra, chains, rope and pole.  There will also be a midnight countdown and champagne toast, followed by a DJ after show and dance party!  Tickets start at $75 and it is recommended to book early for the best seats.
  3. Austin’s New Year is a free event from 5-10 p.m. at Butlers Park. After moving to Austin, this is the perfect family-friendly New Year’s Eve gathering to attend. Austin’s New Year is an annual free event where Austin families can come together downtown to welcome in the New Year! ANY is an alcohol-free celebration that showcases Austin’s diverse and talented creative community of art, films, and live music.
