There are few things better than living in Austin other than getting to take advantage of the gorgeous scenery, especially during the summer. Beat the heat while and explore your new hometown at the same time by taking a trip to these Austin swimming holes.
1. Mansfield Dam Park. Only a couple miles from Downtown Austin, this is one of the Austin swimming holes that has everything you are looking for. With clean water, boat access, and views of Lake Travis, what more could you ask for after moving to Austin?
2. Jacob’s Well. While you may be tempted to dive off the cliff into the 13ft-wide opening, opt for exploring the 100ft-deep perennial spring instead.
3. Twin Falls. Located along the Barton Springs Greenbelt, this is one of the most popular Austin swimming holes in the area. The shallow water makes this a great place to sit and enjoy the refreshing water.
4. Pace Bend. If you are looking to take part in some (safe) cliff diving while living in Austin, then Pace Bend has your name all over it. Plus, the nine miles of shoreline will give you and your family plenty of room to spread out and relax.
5. Reimers Ranch. Located on open parkland along the Perdernales River, this is one of the only Austin swimming holes with a white-sand beach and shells.
