With moments left to spare,

Author: before your move there is a ton that needs to be done. Other than the obvious, like packing, buying materials, looking into a moving service, etc. There are other tasks that must be completed before you can move into a new neighborhood or community. Such as the great community that our local office serves. To make sure that you’ve done everything to ensure a successful move, here are some last minute to-do’s to keep in mind.
Open New Bank Accounts
A lot of banks are regional, so if you’re moving long distance you may have to find a new bank that’s closer to where you’re moving to. If you need to find a new bank, be sure to open a new account before closing your current account.
Find a new Doctor
Finding a good doctor is crucial. Obviously, it’s hard to take your current doctor with you on your move. So research and talk to local doctors in your new area and talk to them until you find one who puts you at ease when it comes to your family’s well-being.
TransferMemberships
Don’t leave loose ends and either transfer or resign current memberships
Transfer Medical Records / Insurance
Have up to date medical records for the new doctor, and contact your insurance company and make them aware of your move. Some insurance companies don’t cover certain areas of the country.
Clean Out the Freezer
Begin using frozen goods a month before you move. If you have any left over, dispose of them. Those items will probably go bad during the moving process.

1. Invite some friends to help you move. Everyone needs a helping hand, so get as many as you can.
2. Plan! It’s hard to make something easy when you don’t plan ahead. Chart out your travel route, assign who will take what items where, move larger items first, and bring tools that you’ll need
3. Take the time to organize and carefully pack items based on weight, content, and how fragile they can be.
4. Make a detailed list of what you need to buy for the apartment. It’s hard to take a shower without a shower curtain. It’s even harder to enjoy a burger without ketchup. So be sure not to forget anything.
5. Make a “Care Kit” to make the move easier for them. They may be moving away, but they still want to feel like part of the family.
